French striker Antoine Griezmann has poured cold water on a possible move to Manchester United. Rumours had been circulating for months that the Atleti striker was preparing to join compatriot and close friend Paul Pogba but Griezmann has claimed the opposite.
"I always get the same questions about my future and it is getting a bit tiresome,” - Antoine Griezmann
Despite the Spanish club enduring a difficult season, Griezmann had been a star player and has matured into a player who can carry a team. He has scored 20 goals in 37 appearances and has been a vital player for Atlético. It seems Griezmann who places great emphasis on quality of life rather than an increased pay cheque.
"Like I always say, I am very happy here at Atletico and in Madrid. The weather is great, my team-mates are some of the best you can have and I am working with a great coach.”
There is also an exciting future ahead at Atlético and the chance to be the first to play in their new stadium so you can see the reasons why the French star is hesitant to leave. If United or another club do come calling it would need to be a world record offer for the Madrid club to consider selling and the player himself will need some convincing.
“I am feeling very well here. I see no reason why I would want to leave."
